2014.Wk2: One Sick Puppy

I had big plans for this weekend.  It was going to be a nice mix of super productive and relaxing.  It was not.
Saturday morning, I took Toby to the vet for his yearly vaccines.  Approximately one mile after leaving the vet's office he lost his cookies all over my car's leather seats, multiple times.  When I pulled over the car a random dog ran up and started jumping on the door.  He ran along side the car for a good while, darting back and forth across the road and forcing me to slam on my brakes.  Just when I thought I had lost him, I entered a busy intersection and there he was again, running after my car and weaving in and out of traffic.
But for my sick dog sitting next to me in the seat, I would have scooped up the pup and put him in my car.  But you know, I couldn't because my own dog was having a full on meltdown in the seat next to me.  So instead I just had a panic attack in the car screaming at the cars to avoid hitting the dog.  Luckily, he made it out of the intersection but it was soooo not what I needed at that moment.
Toby proceeded to be sick all weekend and throw up nine times.  This is particularly disconcerting for a dog who weighs 6 pounds.  So, on Saturday night I blew up my air mattress and slept next to him in the kitchen just to make sure he was okay.   Let me tell you, it was uncomfortable.  And to think I slept on that bed for a whole year during my first year of law school when I was too poor to buy a real bed.  As I stared up at the ceiling as my bed slowly deflated, I thought to myself, regardless of the tiny dog who who tried to ruin my car- my life has really come a long way from sleeping on a blow up mattress.
Highlight of the Week: My current work bag was falling apart, but I have been hesitant to pull the trigger on a new on.  I think work bags for female lawyers is particularly challenging because - at least for me.  I need to have a really big bag that goes with suits, but also business casual.  Anyways, after a lot of searching, I impulse bought this bag this week:
It is big enough to hold a redwell folder, and it fits all the garbage I cart to and from the office on a daily basis.  Best part?  Its actually from Target and only $35!  That's about $300 cheaper then the Michael Kors bags I was eyeing.
Lowlight of the Week: Minus needing a new car that doesn't smell like tiny dog vomit, Gonzaga lost to Portland for the first time since I am pretty sure the NINETIES this week.  I am not happy.
Currently Watching: I watched every single NFL football game this weekend.  I am so into the playoffs this year, despite not really having a dog in the fight.  I think I am overall rooting for the Broncos to win, but I wouldn't be disappointed to see the Seahawks win since that is apparently who my entire Facebook feed is rooting for.
PSA: I am pretty sure I was the last person on the planet who saw this series of tweets and photos of Neil Patrick Harris getting wasted on margaritas.  Can I party with this guy, please?

Golden Globes Best Dressed:

Michelle Dockery is ending up on a lot of worst dressed lists, which is shocking to me because I thought she looked stunning (right, Maggie?).  I loved her hair, and I loved the neutral colors of the dress with just a hint of sparkle.

Golden Globes Worst Dressed:

Paula Patton went to Nordstrom Rack to buy this dress, and obviously found it at the bottom of the Marchesa 75% off bin.  I mean seriously, don't you want to just rip that sad ruffle right off the gown? (Note, THIS is how you correctly do the fully body ruffle.)

Quote of the Week: Why don't we just make this a thing?

Poor puppy! I hope he's feeling better.

With all the NFL going on, I just keep hoping for the Super Bowl so football season will be over. Then we'll be on to baseball season!
