There is a First and a Last Time for Everything

I am the kind of person who is very adverse to risk, especially ones that can cause permanent disfigurement. Yet, there I was, halfway up a wall, my legs shaking uncontrollably.

"You have go keep going." said the instructor. "I can't certify you if you don't go higher."

"Nope. Not doing it."

"You can go higher, you are only halfway up."

"I physically cannot go any higher."

"Yes you can, you need to keep going."

"I am not kidding you, let me down now."

This exchange went on for another three or four times before the instructor gave up and just certified me to climb on my own.

I came down and kissed the ground.

Then I tried it again.

I made it to about the same spot before my leg started shaking again and I couldn't go any further.

This pattern went on for another three or four times until I gave up and tried the wall that was kind of slanted that all the kids were climbing. I enjoyed that wall.

The End.

You thought this was going to be a sweet story about conquering your fears and making it to the top of the wall despite being too scared to do it, didn't you?

Well it's not. Instead its a story about how I only climbed halfway up the wall, stopped, and thus never fell down and broke my head open.

The End. Again.

OMG, you gave me a good belly laugh this morning! Too funny! Was it just hard or was it some mental block halfway up?

HA love it! I'm very risk averse as well, especially if it is something that could hurt me!

HAHAHAHA! My whole family jokes that I have T-Rex arms because I'm so weak. You made it way further than I would have.
