Change of the Seasons...

I fall squarely into the “I hate Halloween” camp. It has a great deal to do with my aversion to things that are scary and a small amount to do with the fact the Halloween at our first house some brats knocked over our mailbox after we gave them candy.

And I have never cared much for the holiday since. See how your actions can scar people?

However, much to my surprise, Halloween turned out to not be so bad this year. Despite my attempts to eat all the candy before the children arrived and my insistent that we should put the pumpkins on the back porch for our own personal enjoyment, Dan forced me to hand out candy. And not just hand out candy…literally sit outside for hours handing out candy.

(Apparently the Droid's night setting is not as good as one would hope.)

We talked with neighbors and forced the children to pick whose pumpkin was better....

Which one is better?

(batcat.)

And you know what? I found myself moderately enjoying the stupid holiday.  But that also could be attributed to the margarita I was drinking...

Now it is November 1st and while I STRONGLY STAND AGAINST CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS BEFORE THANKSGIVING I couldn't help but get myself one of these red beauties to kick off the holiday season...

Cheers!

Too bad I'm pregnant and all because I could have used a margarita to get me through Halloween. Most of the trick or treaters we say were teenagers, many of which didn't even have a costume. I wanted to see the cute kids dammit!

I hate dressing up for Halloween but I usually like handing out candy to the little ones in costumes. This year we had one, lone trick or treater. (And the "kids" next door, who I think are old enough to vote.) Bummer.

I wish I could wait to celebrate Christmas until after Thanksgiving but I don't. I break out the Christmas music long before that. I don't decorate until after Thanksgiving but I'm thinking of Christmas starting...well...today!

Glad you were able to enjoy Halloween. A margarita sounds SO GOOD. I haven't had one in at least a year. I need to get one of those!

Sitting outside and handing out candy sounds like a great way to spend the night! If we had more kids in the neighborhood, I might have passed out candy but we don't so I just hung out by myself in the house.

I... hid from trick or treaters inside a dark house. My neighbors probably think I'm some kind of a hermit. They're kind of right! And for the record, batcat is awesome.
