4th of July Festivities

This last month has been tough. Studying for the bar and getting a new puppy was not one of our most ingenious ideas. I have had so many "I swear I'm going to put them both in the pound!" breakdowns I had my dog lover badge revoked. Thus, Dan and I made a hard but necessary decision to do a little replacement road tripping. First stop, my parent's house to enjoy the Fourth of July together with no bar and no books. Second stop, Dan leaves to go his parent's house to get Kadira socialized with four other dogs (ranging from a King Charles Spanial to a Mastiff)...engulfed in two weeks of constant studying. I'm serious this time. I just got done with a marathon 12 hours of contracts...and still feel like I know nothing.

But the last two days were very fun and for a moment I forgot my misery and just enjoyed being with my happy little family. Here are some pictures of our lovely weekend.

The dogs had a great weekend- finally in a backyard where they could chase after each other off lease. And boy did they chase.

Can you tell which footprints are Kadira's and which ones are Toby's?

You MUST click on this picture to see the look on these two dog's faces close up. And people wonder why I get so nervous when these two get rowdy.

We bought the kids a pool of which they enjoyed immensely...and by "they" I mean Kadira. Toby just watched and tried to stay away from all the splashing.

Kadira enjoys the game "bobbing for ice chips"- here's one literally flying out of her mouth.

Toby and Kadira engaged in an epic battle over the pink rope chew toy that lasted for hours...

....and hours....

....and hours....

...and hours....

Kadira finally won, go figure.

Since we are American we obviously had to do the most American thing we could think of and grill raw meat...

Kiss the cook!

Delicious! (please do not think about how many calories this was...just know it was the best hamburger ever.)

Freak rain storms could not put a damper on our mood...but they did put a bit of a damper on our pool time.

On a scale of 1-10, the attempts at a family picture turned out mildly successful.

In the evening we went down to the Idaho Falls Greenbelt to watch the fireworks. See those crowds of people on the other side of the river? Now that's some Fourth of July fun...

Dan and I taking our traditional Fourth of July Picture just before the fireworks. Click HERE to see last years...which is actually more of a therapy post about my flight phobia but it is mildly entertaining to re read so you should check it out (especially if you are a new reader).

Now I am sulking because I miss my husband...and surprisingly my big dog (more on her traumatic day later...) and I hate studying for the bar and I'm reminiscing on what a big mistake law school was over a glass of wine.

But that's enough of my pity party. Now time for bed and Con Law tomorrow!
