My name is Melissa and thanks for stopping by Duoly Noted.
Some very important things you should know about me: I 100% believe that everything looks better in the color red. If I were stranded on a desert island and only had sushi, coffee, and wine I would not only survive, but when the rescue boat came I would tell them to keep on going. My standard evening wear is black yoga pants and a collegiate hooded sweatshirt. I am not a great speller, but think an angry letter can right most wrongs. I do not know how to cook, so I force myself to engage in weekly self-taught cooking experiments. In my free time I write, run, and read. I listen to my music too loud and dance around when I think I am alone. I am a devoted member of the Church of Oprah. I have two children, which may-or-may-not take the form of furry dogs.

Duoly Noted began as a blog that my husband (then boyfriend) and I started together to blog about the 2008 presidential election. Since then, Obama got elected, Dan and I got married, and this blog became completely my own little monster.
Instead of writing about politics, I write about my life. The archives of this blog chronicles our engagement, graduation from law school, the wedding, our big move from Washington to Dallas, our first year of marriage, and beyond!

I would also bring sushi, coffee and wine with me to a deserted island. Maybe bringing a blackberry is also a good idea, just to post envy evoking pictures of the island :)
i'm also a dallasite, married to a lawyer, also a may 2009 (5/16) bride, etc. lots in common :-)!
